The Assembly of States Parties (ASP) met for the first time in The Hague, The Netherlands during its Third Session in September 2004. Credit: ICC-CPI / Wim Van Cappellen.
The Assembly of States Parties met for the first time from 3-10 September 2002 and in resumed sessions from 3-7 February and from 21-23 April 2003, at United Nations Headquarters in New York, under the chairmanship of Prince Zeid Ra’ad Zeid al Hussein of Jordan. The Assembly of States Parties held its Second Session from 8-12 September 2003. The ASP's Third Session was held in The Hague from 6-10 September 2004 and its Fourth Session took place from 28 November - 3 December 2005, also in The Hague. A resumed Fourth Session of the Assembly took place in New York on 26-27 January 2006, in order to conduct the election of the judges. The Fifth Session of the Assembly of States Parties took place in The Hague from 23 - 25 November and 27 November - 1 December 2006. A resumed meeting of the Fifth Session dedicated to the Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression took place in New York from 29 – 31 January 2007. The Sixth Session of the Assembly took place from 30 November - 14 December 2007 in New York. A resumed Sixth Session took place 2 - 6 June 2008, also in New York. The Seventh Session of the Assembly took place from 14 - 22 November 2008. Two resumed Seventh Sessions took place in New York on 19 - 23 January and 9 - 13 February 2009. The first resumed session was dedicated to the election of the judges, the second session was dedicated to the Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression. The Eighth Session of the ASP took place from 18-26 November 2009 in The Hague and the resumed session will take place from 22-25 March 2010 in New York.
