Paraguay signed the Rome Statute on 7 October 1998, and ratified on 14 May 2001, becoming the 31st State Party.
Agreement on Privileges and Immunities
Paraguay signed the Agreement on Privileges and Immunities on 11 February 2004 and ratified on 19 July 2005.
Bilateral Immunity Agreement
Publicly rejected BIA agreement. As a State Member to the MERCOSUR, Paraguay signed the common position adopted on June 20, 2005 in Asuncion, Paraguay. On July 1, 2003, declared by the State Dept. ineligible to receive military assistance.
Implementing Legislation
The MFA has produced a draft ICC bill including cooperation and complementarity provisions which is currently being debated internally amongst different government entities. The bill should be submitted to Congress in the short term.
