Uruguay
Rome Statute   Uruguay signed the Rome Statute on 19 December 2000, and ratified on 28 June 2002, becoming the 72nd State Party.
Agreement on Privileges and Immunities Uruguay signed the APIC on 30 June 2004, and the Congress ratified it on September 6, 2006. The APIC law was published in the official gazette on September 19 and the government deposited the instrument of ratification at the UN on 3 November 2006.
Bilateral Immunity Agreement Publicly rejected BIA agreement. As State Member to the MERCOSUR, Uruguay signed the Common Position adopted on June 20, 2005 in Asuncion (Paraguay).
Implementing Legislation Congress approved the ICC implementation law including complementarity provisions and cooperation. The law entered into force on October 11, 2006. With this important step Uruguay became the first country in the region to fulfill its obligations under the Rome Statute in terms of implementation.
