Rome Statute   Yemen signed on 28 December 2000. The Yemeni House of Representatives voted in favor of ratification of the Rome Statute on 24 March 2007. Shortly thereafter, however, the vote was revoked. There have been several speculations as to the reasons for the reverse decision, one of which concerns the civil war in Sa'adah, northern Yemen. Now that the war has ended, it is anticipated that ratification will once again be on the agenda in the next Parliament, expected to resume this year.
Agreement on Privileges and Immunities Yemen has not signed the Agreement on Privileges and Immunities.
Bilateral Immunity Agreement Yemen has signed a BIA.
Implementing Legislation Discussing ratification was on the agenda of the Parliament in 2006. ICRC’s legal analysis of the Yemeni constitution concludes that amendments are not necessary for ratification.
Membership Yemen is a member of the Arab League.
