Zimbabwe signed on 17 July 1998. The persistent political crisis and rampant human rights violations are the main reasons for the government’s refusal to ratify despite the enthusiasm demonstrated by civil society towards the RS. However NGOs and CSOs have shown strong commitment to the use of international justice mechanisms in ending human rights violations in the country.
