Implementing Legislation
On 31 December 2009, the implementation law was promulgated by the President. Prior to that, the Parliament adopted unanimously the implementation bill on the ICC on 3 December 2009. This law covers both Complementarity and Cooperation and does not retain death penalty.
On 24 June 2009, the government had completed the draft implementing legislation, after consultations with judges of the Supreme Court, lawyers, and civil society, and referred the draft to the National Assembly.
On 23 October 2009, the Plenary sent the draft bill to the Law Committee of the National Assembly, which approved on 5 November 2009 the draft bill implementing ICC legislation in Burkina Faso
