Implementing Legislation
In February 2005, the Director of Public Prosecutions in Fiji established an ICC Working Group, to carry out preparatory work on the implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court in Fiji’s national law. In June of that year, the ICC Working Group issued a Discussion Paper on Implementation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court in the Law of Fiji. Since then some sources indicated that legislation had begun to be drafted. Throughout 2007 there has been no further news in relation to this process.
