Gambia signed on 7 December 1998 and ratified the Rome Statute on 28 June 2002, becoming the 73rd State Party.
Agreement on Privileges and Immunities
Gambia has not signed the APIC.
Bilateral Immunity Agreement
BIA signed on October 5, 2002. Ratified early July 2003.
Implementing Legislation
During the ECOWAS/ICRC Seminar held in Abuja in October 2007, the government delegation from Gambia stated that an inter-ministerial committee would soon be established to commence drafting the ICC bill. Although political will on the part of the government exists, technical assistance is required to see implementation through to completion.
