Rome Statute   Guatemala deposited its instrument of accession at the UN Treaty Office on 2 Apil 2012. After many years of consistent advocacy by different stakeholders, newly sworn in Guatemalan president Otto Pérez Molina, an ex military general, stated during his inaugural speech on January 14th, 2012, that his government’s […] commitment with the rule of law in all its expressions would lead them to try to achieve ratification of the Rome Statute of the ICC”. On 19 January 2012, the Plenary of Congress approved the ICC bill on first reading, and the bill was subsequently approved on a second reading on January 24th, as well as on the third and final general reading on January 26th.
Agreement on Privileges and Immunities Guatemala has not signed the Agreement on Privileges and Immunities.
