> Delivering on the promise of a fair, effective and independent Court > ICC and the Netherlands ICC and the Netherlands The seat of the International Criminal Court is established in The Hague, The Netherlands, in accordance with Article 3 of the Rome Statute. However, the Court may sit elsewhere, whenever it considers it desirable. On 7 June 2007, the Court signed a headquarters agreement with the host State, after approval by the Assembly of States Parties, which defines the various aspects of Host State Relations. The Agreement entered into force on 1 March 2008. |
