Ghana ratified on 20 December 1999, becoming the 6th State Party.

Draft legislation has been prepared by an ad hoc committee of legal experts (commissioned by the Chief State Attorney), but this draft has not yet been made public. Sources indicate that the government would first like to hold public consultations on the draft legislation before submitting it to Parliament.
