Updates on Malta
31 Dec 2005
Malta ratified on 29 November 2002, becoming the 85th State Party.

In order to implement the Rome Statute, Parliament passed an ICC Act in November 2002. The Minister for Justice, in exercising his powers granted in the ICC Act, must now issue legislation to bring the Act into force. This Act may be found at:

The Office of the Attorney General had previously concluded a study on the implications of ratification.

In January 2002, the Ministry of Justice announced its commitment to ratify the Rome Statute.
