In March 2003, the Namibian Cabinet authorized the Minister of Justice to table the Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities of the Court in the National Assembly for ratification.

0n 20 June 2002, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Namibia, who is also a member of the Parliament, tabled the bill on ratification of the Rome Statute in the National Assembly, which was adopted unanimously.

Previously, in a Cabinet meeting in March 2002, the government of Namibia approved the ratification process.

The government studied domestic laws as well as the Rome Statute, in order to determine if changes were necessary before ratification could take place.
