In September 2007, Cameroon became the CICC’s target in its universal ratification campaign. Government officials affirm that there are no political reasons holding back ratification – they affirm that a ratification law has been adopted by the Government but has yet to be adopted by the Parliament. It is perceived that more coordinated efforts would trigger the necessary pressure that could lead the Government to ratify the Rome Statute.
