Updates on Sierra Leone

As of April 2008, a draft implementation bill is in the possession of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, and it is not yet public. It is expected that the draft will be open to input prior to being transmitted to the Parliament around August 2008. It is expected that the bill will be enacted into law without delay once it reaches Parliament. A Coalition of NGOs in Sierra Leone has formed to push forward implementation of the Rome Statute and ratification of the APIC.
