Updates on Colombia
01 Nov 2009
On November 1, 2009 the Statute's Article 124 provision, which allowed Colombia to become a state party without being subject to the ICC's jurisdiction for war crimes for a period of seven years, expired. As of that date the ICC will have jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute war crimes perpetrated by Colombian nationals or on Colombian territory. Please refer to the Q & A on this issue for more detailed information on the issue.
