Salvadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts a high level seminar on the ICC

On 17-19 February 2010, the Salvadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a high level seminar on the ICC geared toward addressing some of the main concerns delaying the ratification process. The seminar featured as panelists Hugo Martinez (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Miriam Spittler (OTP), Mauricio Herdocia (OAS rapporteur for the Inter-American Juridical Committee of the OAS), Patrick Zahnd (LAC Adviser for the ICRC), Francesca Varda (CICC), Elizabeth Villalta ( El Salvador MFA), and included participation by Members of the Executive, Judiciary, Attorney General’s Office, Ombudsman’s Office, National Judicial Council, National Assembly, Law Universities, The Central American Court of Justice, PARLACEN, EC, civil society, military, diplomatic community among others. The meeting brought together very high ranking authorities in the country, particularly in the judicial sphere, as well as many of the key actors that in some way or another have a say in the ratification process.
