Coalition for the ICC conducts a mission to Nicaragua within the Framework of the URC

4-6 September 2011 - The Coalition for the ICC focused its Universal Ratification Campaign (URC) for September on Nicaragua. Within the framework of this campaign, the Regional Coordinator for the Americas, Francesca Varda, travelled to Managua to hold meetings with members of the Nicaraguan Coalition for the ICC and other actors from civil society, with the aim of coordinating efforts to promoting ratification of the Rome Statute. The Coalition also held meetings with representatives from different political groups, as well as presidential candidates Fabio Gadea of the PLI Alliance and Arnoldo Alemán from the PLC alliance, where theyw ere encouraged to include Rome Statute ratification within their governmental action plans.
