On 28 February 2002, the Parliament passed the bill of ratification, which was then signed by the President before deposit at the UN.

Previously, the translation of the ICC Statute was completed and the Council of Ministers and the House of Representatives approved the draft ratification legislation.

There were no major obstacles for ratification, and no need to amend the Constitution.
