The second reading of the ICC ratification bill was concluded on 5 April 2001. On 3 May 2001, the Danish Parliament passed the bill, which then received royal assent from the Danish Queen and Prime Minister.

The implementing and ratification legislation was presented to Parliament on 4 October 2000. The first hearing in Parliament (Folketing) was completed and the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee was held on 20 February 2001.
