> Una corte universal con apoyo global > Ratificación e implementación > Campaña por la Ratificación Universal > CRU Egipto CRU Egipto La Coalición por la Corte Penal Internacional y sus miembros llaman a Egipto a tomar las medidas necesarias para adelantar y ratificar el Estatuto de Roma de la Corte Penal Internacional (CPI). Se precisan más ratificaciones al Estatuto en la región del Medio Oriente y Nor África (MOAN) para así fortalecer su voz y su significativa participación en la lucha global para establecer una CPI verdaderamente justa, efectiva e independiente.A la fecha, MOAN es la región es la región menos representada en la CPI. A la fecha hay tres Estados Partes del Estatuto de Roma- Jordania, Yibuti e Islas Comores- que son tres de los 22 estados partes de la Liga de Estados Árabes. La región cuenta con 11 signatarios (Argelia, Bahrein, Egipto, Irán, Israel, Kuwait, Marruecos, Omán, Siria, EAU y Yemen). Egipto firmó el Estatuto de Roma el 26 de diciembre de 2000 y en enero de 2008, en Cairo, se formó la Coalición Egipcia por la Corte Penal Internacional. El número de coaliciones en la región de MOAN es de once. La región cuenta con un movimiento en crecimiento en pro de los derechos humanos y la Coalición tiene a 300 miembros activos dispersos en todos los países de la región. Por medio de un esfuerzo regional y fortalecido a la sociedad civil, parlamentarios y gobiernos, la Coalición busca aumentar el número de ratificaciones y la completa implementación del Estatuto de Roma en todos los países de MOAN. La Coalición, por lo tanto, apela a la República Árabe de Egipto a ratificar el Estatuto de Roma y a apoyar sin reservas a la primera corte permanente, independiente con la capacidad de investigar y llevar ante la justicia a los individuos que cometan las mas serias violaciones al derecho Internacional, a saber crímenes de guerra, crímenes de lesa humanidad, y genocidio ¡Actúe ahora!
