The Coalition’s longstanding Universal Ratification Campaign (URC) targets one country every month for increased advocacy by CICC members at both the national and international level. Actions include a public letter to key government officials urging prompt ratification, advocacy meetings with governments nationally and at the UN, and media outreach. Ratification targets for 2009 include Yemen (December/January); Turkey (February); Lebanon (March); Nepal (April); Egypt (May).

Each year, the CICC holds two regional strategy meetings that bring together a dozen or more of its most active members to discuss priorities and objectives for ICC advocacy. In 2009, meetings are scheduled for Asia from 3-6 March in Kathmandu, Nepal, and for Africa in May.
